Dutch Acres was established in East Harris County by my husband Dino Germany in 2003 when the neighbor down the road wanted to sell all his animals and asked if we wanted to buy a few goats and a couple of chickens. Little did we know what we were getting into when we said "sure...the goats can clear the back forty for us" (really it was only 4 acres at that time).
Well, since then it has been a lot of late nights with birthing does and bottle babies; a lot of vaccination giving, worming, hoof trimming, de-budding, and even a lot of debating about "what the heck were we thinking!" But even with all that, we have loved every minute of it... and even bought 20 acres to spread out and grow the herd.
So we are now located in MOSS HILL TEXAS. North of Liberty, East of Cleveland, West of Beaumont, and South of Livingston. We are on Highway 105, one(1) mile west of the intersection of Hwy 146 and Hwy 105 in Moss Hill. Give us a call, or if your in the area, stop by and pick out your next FFA or 4H project, a breeder Doe, or at times, even a fullblood Buck.
Dino chose the name "Dutch Acres" for our place after his father. His name was Harold Germany, but everyone that knew him called him "Dutch". I wish I had known him...
We look forward to meeting you, and Dino loves to talk goat, so give him a call and I am sure he will do everything in his power to make you a Show Winner or even just a proud and happy goat owner.
